Job Overview:

Otto's Cache is Jasper's first locally owned cafe, bakery, and curated provisions market. Serving an expertise and craftsmanship of a new era of Jasper hospitality offerings. In Spring 2025, Otto's Cache will open its doors to Jasper National Park. The cafe/bakery focus will be on both dine-in and take-away offerings, serving specialty coffee, fresh baked goods, sandwiches, and salads. The market’s main focus will be providing our community with locally sourced, exciting artisanal provisions, making great food accessible to our community year-round, all made possible by local Canadian suppliers.

We’re looking for a Prep Cook to join the team. This is an entry-level position in a kitchen that assists the chef and other staff with preparing ingredients, assembling dishes, and maintaining a clean and sanitary work environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Washing, peeling, chopping, slicing, and measuring ingredients for various recipes.
  2. Following the chef's instructions and recipes to prepare sauces, salads, soups, and other dishes.
  3. Storing and labeling food items in the appropriate containers and refrigerators.
  4. Cleaning and sanitizing the kitchen equipment, utensils, counters, and floors.
  5. Adhering to food safety and hygiene standards and regulations.
  6. Receiving delivery orders.

Position Requirements:

  1. English Fluency Level required for position: Intermediate
  2. Basic cooking skills and knowledge of kitchen tools and equipment.
  3. The ability to work quickly, efficiently, and accurately under pressure.
  4. The ability to follow directions and work as part of a team.
  5. A positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
  6. Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy items and stand for long periods.
  7. Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to handle dough and tools.
  8. Able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
  9. Food Safe Certificate an asset.
