Job Responsibilities

1. Develop project plans, coordinate projects (scheduling and tracking), communicate changes and progress, complete projects on time and within budget, and manage project team activities.
2. Recruit and manage subcontractors.
3. Cost Consciousness is essential: Work within the approved budget, develop and implement cost-saving measures, contribute to profits and revenue, and conserve organizational resources by managing budgets aligned with business goals.
4. Oversee installations and relocations of aerial and underground cables, including OSP fiber optic cables, ensuring compliance with industry standards, technical reliability, and timely, cost-efficient execution.
5. Mentor and manage the productivity of multiple crews (directional drill crews, mini crews, and vacuum crews), providing guidance and support during all construction phases.
6. Direct the performance of construction craft personnel according to prescribed safety procedures, including the use of appropriate safety equipment for aerial and underground construction.
7. Ensure adherence to company policies, OSHA standards, municipal ordinances, and legal regulations.

Qualifications & Skills

• Safety-oriented mindset.
• Knowledge of underground, aerial, and OSP fiber optic construction methods.
• Established relationships with subcontractors and the ability to quickly engage subcontractors in the market.
• Proven experience with OSP aerial fiber optic cable construction.
• Understanding of directional drill locating, with hands-on experience preferred.
• Knowledge of bore chemical mixtures and soil conditions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Strong organizational and communication skills; fluency in English; bilingual skills are a plus but not required.
• Effective listening and communication skills with co-workers, customers, inspectors, and the public.
• Ability to multitask effectively.
• Comfort working with multiple groups within the organization.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; CDL preferred.
• Physical ability to walk on uneven ground safely and efficiently.
• Willingness to work in all weather conditions and travel as needed.
