Position Overview

Under the direction and supervision of a physician, performs duties related to the application, maintenance, and removal of casts, and all types of traction for patients coming to the Orthopedic Clinic and on inpatient units. Maintains Orthopedic Clinic supplies.

Experience
  • Previous experience as an Orthopedic Technologist is preferred.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
  • Grade 12 education.
  • Successful completion of the Orthopedic Technologist Course.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
  • Registration with the Canadian Society of Orthopedic Technologists or the American Society of Orthopedic Professionals required and maintains registration on an annual basis.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time and to do heavy lifting.

This term position may end earlier as outlined in your collective agreement.

This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check, and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
