Job summary

Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre seeks an experienced and creative education professional to lead the full cycle of design, development, implementation, facilitation and evaluation of non-clinical learning experiences across the organization.

The Organizational Development Associate will use their facilitation expertise to deliver learning experiences based on adult learning principles, best practice methodology and educational technology tools with the aim of enhancing learner engagement,

Qualifications

  • 6 to 10+ years of progressive experience in organizational development in large complex environments (healthcare preferred).
  • Experience facilitating workshops and programs in productivity, leadership, self-awareness, teamwork, change management and strategic thinking.
  • Instructional design and project management skills with ability to deliver on time-sensitive projects.
  • Ability to deliver learning using face-to-face, classroom, virtual and blended formats.
  • Commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, allyship and lifelong learning.
  • Strong communication, collaboration and facilitation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct needs assessments, design, implement and evaluate corporate OD/ Leadership programs and workshops.
  • Facilitate Sunnybrook Leadership Institute (SLI) workshops and develop learning materials.
  • Develop ongoing curriculum for the Sunnybrook Leadership Institute (SLI).
  • Deliver workshops and OD/ Leadership interventions across modalities (in-person, virtual, blended).
  • Stay current with workplace learning trends and adult education practices.
  • Research, design and facilitate new topics in response to needs and objectives.
  • Provide administrative support and exceptional customer service.
  • Partner with technology to support responsible AI adoption.

About The Job

OD&L is seeking an experienced and creative education professional to lead the full cycle of design, development, implementation, facilitation and evaluation of non-clinical learning experiences across the organization. The Organizational Development Associate (ODA) will use their facilitation expertise to deliver learning experiences based on adult learning principles, best practice methodology and educational technology tools with the aim of enhancing learner engagement, developing leadership competency and supporting organizational strategic directions.

Summary Of Duties
  • Utilize best practices to conduct needs assessments/analysis, research, design, implementation and evaluation of corporate programs OD&L/SLI workshops, intact team interventions and other initiatives
  • Facilitate Sunnybrook Leadership Institute (SLI) workshops and programs, and develop all associated learning materials
  • Assist Manager with the development of ongoing curriculum for the Sunnybrook Leadership Institute (SLI)
  • Deliver existing workshops and facilitate OD&L interventions to optimize individual and team effectiveness in multiple modalities including in-class (face-to-face) and technology based (virtual) platform through an effective blend interactive modalities, making ongoing improvement and updates.
  • Stay current with emerging workplace learning and leadership best practices, trends and innovations and maintain knowledge of adult/workplace learning practices
  • Research, design, develop and facilitate new topics and workshops in response to needs and objectives.
  • Perform administrative tasks and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Assist Manager and Director with research and analysis related to corporate projects
  • Assists with other projects, team and organizational events as required
  • Partner with technology to support responsible AI adoption
Qualifications/Skills
  • Master’s degree in relevant discipline an asset but not required e.g. Education, MBA (Organizational Behaviour), Human Resources, Organizational Psychology, Industrial Psychology, Leadership Studies, other related
  • 6 to 10+ years of progressive experience in organizational development and organizational effectiveness working in large complex, unionized environments (healthcare preferred)
  • Adult education and change management training and experience are assets
  • Experience in facilitating workshops and programs in topic areas related to productivity, leadership, self-awareness, teamwork, change management, strategic thinking
  • Instructional Design and Project Management skills and experience with demonstrated ability to design and execute on time-sensitive projects, workshops and intact team interventions
  • Ability to be detail-oriented with good prioritization skills in a dynamic environment and deliver results on large and small scale projects
  • Use critical thinking and analytical skills on evidence informed leading practices to guide decision making and solve problems
  • Facilitation and consulting skills, including assessing needs to understand gaps and objectives
  • Ability to deliver/facilitate learning using face-to-face, classroom, virtual and blended learning
  • Ability to navigate difficult conversations, ability and understanding of, and experience with, complex team dynamics and group processes
  • Champion and commit to equity, diversity, inclusion, allyship and life-long learning
  • Demonstrated strategic and operational thinking/planning
