Job summary

A provincial government agency in Ontario is seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator for a 12-month contract role. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience in Oracle DBA and be proficient in Oracle 19c, with responsibilities including database optimization, administration, and designing Dataguard environments. Overview

Oracle Database Administrator. This is a contract role with Ontario government ministry.

Term: 12 months, likely renewed
Location: Jarvis St, near Dundas St - Downtown Toronto

October 20, 2025, the candidate is required to work onsite 4 days a week and 1 day from home. Starting January 5, 2026, the candidate is required to work onsite 5 days a week fully. Rate Range $60-70hr on B2B

Responsibilities

• Creates physical database designs and operates and administers the database management system (DBMS) including database optimization, capacity planning, installation and migration, database design, performance tuning, backup and recovery.
• Experience with one or more operating systems
• Experience in monitoring and enforcing database rules Experience in Incident, Change and Configuration Management procedures
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills; verbal and written communication skills; and interpersonal skills
