Job summary

New Value Solutions seeks a Senior Oracle Data Migration Developer for a long-term federal government engagement. The role requires extensive software/database development with recent Oracle data migration expertise and strong database programming skills. Experience with MS Access/VBA applications is highly valuable.

The position is a hybrid engagement servicing a client in the National Capital Region (NCR) and may include substantial onsite work.

Qualifications

• Minium 10 years of software development or database modeling in the last 15 years.
• Minimum 1 year in past 5 years migrating data to Oracle environments.
• Strong data migration experience: ETL/ELT, mapping and load.

Responsibilities

• Migrate data from files, legacy systems and relational databases into Oracle environments.
• Extract, transform, map and load data into Oracle staging/production.
• Develop and maintain queries, stored procedures, functions, and triggers.
• Support DB development with Oracle PL/SQL and/or MS SQL Server T-SQL.
• Develop and troubleshoot Access applications with VBA.
• Support Oracle APEX development as needed.
• Ensure data quality and integrity throughout migration activities.

New Value Solutions, a national IT consulting company, is seeking a Senior Oracle Data Migration Developer for a long-term federal government engagement. The successful candidate will bring extensive software/database development experience with recent Oracle data migration expertise and strong database programming skills. Experience developing and maintaining Microsoft Access/VBA applications will be particularly valuable.

This is a hybrid engagement supporting a client in the National Capital Region (NCR), and may include substantial onsite work.

Responsibilities

• Migrate and translate data from files, legacy systems and relational databases into Oracle database environments.
• Extract, transform, map and load source data into Oracle staging and production structures.
• Develop and maintain complex queries, stored procedures, functions, triggers and other database objects.
• Support database development using Oracle PL/SQL and/or Microsoft SQL Server T-SQL.
• Develop, enhance and troubleshoot Microsoft Access applications, including forms and VBA-based functionality.
• Support Oracle APEX development where required.
• Troubleshoot data migration and application issues and support data quality and integrity throughout migration activities.

Requirements

• Minimum 10 years of experience within the past 15 years working as a software developer and/or database modeller.
• Minimum 1 year within the past 5 years migrating and translating data from files, legacy systems or relational databases into Oracle database environments.
• Strong data migration experience involving extraction, transformation/mapping and loading of data.
• Strong database development experience using Oracle PL/SQL and/or Microsoft SQL Server T-SQL.
• Post-secondary degree or diploma in engineering, science, computer science, mathematics or a technology domain.

Preferred

• Significant Microsoft Access application development experience, including forms, VBA, workflow automation, debugging and optimization.
• Oracle APEX application development experience.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure DevOps, Oracle SQL Developer and/or APEX Office Print.
• Aviation or aerospace experience.
