Zebra Technologies seeks a seasoned Optical Engineer to join the Industrial Machine Vision division in Montreal, focusing on 2D smart cameras, 3D sensors, and LED illumination. You will contribute to hardware development, concept generation, testing, and implementation, leveraging expertise in optical design and sensor technologies.

The role requires a 4-year degree in optics/physics and extensive hands-on experience with imaging sensors, cameras, and optical software tools.

Qualifications

• 4-year Bachelor's degree in Optical Science and Engineering, Physics Engineering or Physics from an accredited institution in Canada or comparable foreign university.
• 6+ years of experience in optical design and testing.
• Experience with CMOS and CCD image sensors is highly preferred.
• Good programming skills in C and Python, Linux environment, MATLAB and Zemax.

• Contributes during all phases of product development including concept generation, design, testing and implementation.
• Builds advanced models on key optical technologies.
• Provides multidisciplinary support to production by resolving technical issues and testing new and existing designs.
• Performs system analysis and analytical modeling on current and prototype designs; applies quantitative analysis to determine root causes and implements corrective actions.
