An established industry player is seeking a Senior Optical Engineer to lead product design and development within their Optical Engineering Team. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance the performance of next-generation optical products. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Coherent Optical Communication and optical engineering development, with a strong focus on DSP and high-speed optical signal generation. You will have the opportunity to mentor junior engineers and ensure the quality and performance of optical components, making a significant impact in a dynamic and innovative environment.
Pay Range (Annual): $133,000.00 - $247,000.00
At Infinera, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. Your actual base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. This role may be eligible for equity grants, discretionary bonuses, or commissions. The incentives are based on the company's incentive plans, financial performance, and individual job performance.

This position provides product design and development leadership within the Optical Engineering Team, focusing on the next-generation transponder/muxponder product family. As a senior technical contributor, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams including HW, DSP, FW, and SW to optimize client and line-side optics performance. Responsibilities include full integration of line modules with performance optimization and quality assurance, design validation/testing, translating system requirements into detailed specifications, and interfacing with vendors for optical components. You will also mentor and guide other engineers.
