Job summary

Optiks International is hiring an Optical Associate in Victoria, BC, Uptown, partnering with solis optics. This part-time role ranges 20-29 hours per week and includes opportunities to deliver exceptional customer experiences in a lively retail setting.

You will greet customers, assist with eyewear selections, manage orders and billing, and support store operations alongside an Optician. Prior retail or optical experience is a plus; training and benefits are provided.

We’re hiring to fill a current vacancy, join our team at Optiks International - Victoria - Uptown - partners of solis optics, as an Optical Associate!

This position is a part-timerole working 20-29hours per week. Our location is open Monday to Saturday.

What You'll Do

• Greet and welcome customers, manage customer check-in and check-out
• Engage with customers in person, by phone, and via email
• Coordinate appointments, prepare prescription printouts
• Educate customers on eyewear options tailored to their lifestyle, ensuring optimal value and quality
• Guide customers in selecting eyewear that combines style with optimal vision
• Support frame and facial measurements alongside an Optician, ensuring proper fit and positioning of new eyewear
• Assist with contact lens orders
• Manage billing and payments for patients, insurers and other third parties
• Deliver exceptional customer service to ensure a positive customer experience
• Support store operations by performing additional duties as required

What You Bring

• Previous experience in a customer-facing role, preferably within a retail environment
• Previous optical experience is considered an asset
• Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency with technology and computers, including MS Office Suite
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with a passion for connecting with customers and providing exceptional experiences
• A collaborative, adaptable, and proactive team player, able to manage changing priorities effectively
