FYidoctors Vancouver - Keefer Place is seeking an Optical Associate to join our team on a casual basis. You will greet patients, help with eyewear choices, interpret prescriptions, and support billing and clinic operations in a fast-paced environment.

The role emphasizes outstanding patient service, teamwork, and adaptability, with opportunities for growth and ongoing training. The clinic operates Monday to Saturday with 0–19 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Previous optical experience or retail experience is considered an asset.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced setting.
• Proficiency with technology and computers, including MS Office Suite.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with patients.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome patients to the clinic and engage them in person, by phone, and by email.

• Perform frame measurements, ensure proper fit, and handle repairs/adjustments.
• Coordinate appointments and prepare prescription printouts.

• Assist with contact lens fittings and orders.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and support clinic operations.

Job description

Our FYidoctors Vancouver - Keefer Place clinic is looking for someone like you to bring your exceptional skills and experience and join us as an Optical Associate to fill an existing vacancy!

In this role, you’ll enhance the lives of our patients every single day, delivering exceptional vision and eyewear experiences in a dynamic, rewarding, and collaborative environment.

This position is a Casual role working0-19 hours per week. Our clinic is open Monday to Saturday.

What You’ll Do

• Greet and welcome patients to the clinic, engage with patients in person, by phone, and via email
• Educate patients on eyewear options tailored to their lifestyle, assisting with frame selection to ensure optimal value, quality, aesthetics, and performance
• Interpret optical prescriptions provided by the optometrist
• Perform frame and facial measurements, ensuring proper fit and positioning of new eyewear, as well as repairs and adjustments
• Coordinate appointments, and prepare prescription printouts
• Manage billing and payments for patients, insurers and other third parties
• Assist with contact lens fittings and process contact lens orders
• Deliver exceptional customer service, ensuring a positive patient experience
• Support clinic operations by performing additional duties as required
