Job summary

FYidoctors, a division of FYihealth group, is Canada's largest eyecare provider, seeking an Optical Associate at the Tisdale - Healthplex clinic. You will greet patients, explain eyewear options, and help with frame selection to ensure quality and value.

You will also assist with measurements, prescriptions, and billing in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting. The role is full-time (30–40 hours/week), open Monday to Friday, with opportunities for growth and a comprehensive benefits package

Qualifications

• Previous optical experience or retail experience is an asset.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with patients.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome patients in person, by phone, and by email.
• Educate patients on eyewear options and assist with frame selection.
• Interpret optical prescriptions from the optometrist.
• Take frame and facial measurements for proper fit and adjustments.
• Coordinate appointments and prepare prescription printouts.
• Manage billing and payments for patients and insurers.
• Assist with contact lens fittings and orders.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and positive patient experience.
• Support clinic operations with additional duties as required.

Job description

Our FYidoctors Tisdale - Healthplex clinic is looking for someone like you to bring your exceptional skills and experience and join us as an Optical Associate to fill an existing vacancy!

In this role, you’ll enhance the lives of our patients every single day, delivering exceptional vision and eyewear experiences in a dynamic, rewarding, and collaborative environment.

This position is a full-time role working30-40 hours per week. Our clinic is open Monday to Friday.

What You'll Do

• Greet and welcome patients to the clinic, engage with patients in person, by phone, and via email
• Educate patients on eyewear options tailored to their lifestyle, assisting with frame selection to ensure optimal value, quality, aesthetics, and performance
• Interpret optical prescriptions provided by the optometrist
• Perform frame and facial measurements, ensuring proper fit and positioning of new eyewear, as well as repairs and adjustments
• Coordinate appointments, and prepare prescription printouts
• Manage billing and payments for patients, insurers and other third parties
• Assist with contact lens fittings and process contact lens orders
• Deliver exceptional customer service, ensuring a positive patient experience
• Support clinic operations by performing additional duties as required

What You Bring

• Previous optical experience or retail experience is considered an asset
• Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency with technology and computers, including MS Office Suite
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a passion for connecting with patients and delivering exceptional patient experiences
