The ideal candidate will possess a science-related degree and be proactive in ensuring effective operations and compliance with safety standards. This role involves working in both wastewater treatment and biogas production, ensuring environmental integrity and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Degree in science required, with focus on Biology, Chemistry or Environmental Science.
  • Wastewater Treatment Certification is an asset.
  • Laboratory and maintenance exposure beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a Level IV Wastewater Treatment facility on a rotating shift basis.
  • Maintain daily operation of BioGas Facility and perform laboratory testing.
  • Conduct monitoring of well water and ensure housekeeping of plants.

Job description

Reporting to the WWTP & BioGas Facility Manager, the WWTP & BioGas Operator will be a self-starter with a strong work ethic, “Can Do” attitude and the ability to adapt to a fast paced and dynamic work environment.

  • Hourly wage : $26.31

Responsibilities

  • Daily operation of a Level IV Wastewater Treatment facility on a rotating shift basis;
  • Daily operation of a “State of the Art” BioGas Facility;
  • Daily housekeeping of both plants;
  • Daily monitoring of well water and water tanks;
  • Laboratory testing for internal use and regulatory requirements.
  • Assisting maintenance personnel as required.

Qualifications

  • Community College or University Degree in a science background.
  • Must Possess a diploma or degree in science, with a focus in Biology, Chemistry or Environmental Science
  • Wastewater Treatment Certification would be considered an asset.
  • Previous industry experience would be considered an asset;
  • Exposure to laboratory and maintenance environments would be considered an asset.
  • Clear understanding and dedication to meeting deadlines.
  • Clear understanding of Safety standards.
  • Ability to analyze and present information effectively and accurately.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of the team.
