About Us

The Office of Regulatory Affairs and Service Effectiveness (the Office) was established in 2015 to develop and implement a regulatory reform and modernization agenda in Nova Scotia. It began its work with a focus on reducing barriers to doing business in Nova Scotia and has since expanded its scope to include other groups including physicians and citizens.

It delivers on its mandate through its work in three primary areas : 1) by providing an independent assessment of regulatory proposals against best practice principles which includes measuring the financial impact of individual regulatory proposals for costs or savings 2) improving service provided by government to support regulatory compliance and 3) working with partners including government partners in aligning regulatory approaches.

The Office is a central agency with the Premier serving as its Minister. Our work to improve and modernize Nova Scotias regulatory environment is an important contributor to the provinces broader economic strategy and has been nationally recognized for its work.

About Our Opportunity

As the Business Navigator you will provide business with one on one personalized client management support to ensure businesses are successful in opening and or operating their business.

Primary Accountabilities

Some of the primary accountabilities in this role include :

  • Completing indepth assessments of business needs to ensure success.
  • Securing critical resources and information quickly to meet the needs by leveraging internal and external relationships and sourcing resources and information directly
  • Proactively contacting businesses to ensure a positive relationship and ongoing business success.
  • Maintaining a client management database detailing all business engagement information and activities for each client to ensure continuity of service and providing the ability for the Office to produce insightful management reports.
  • Participating in strategic sessions with senior RSE and other government staff to make recommendations on how to improve service protect businesses confidential information and reduce burden.
  • Acting as a senior resource who works and makes decisions independently on the best way to support your business clients.
  • Providing regular status reports to the business on key activities.

Qualifications and Experience

To be successful in this role the Business Navigator must have significant and proven customer service and client relationship management skills and experience supporting a wide range of diverse clients and complex situations.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in the following areas :

  • customer service and relationship management and expertise directly supporting a wide range of diverse clients including very complex client situations.
  • meeting team individual and client satisfaction performance targets.
  • building and managing longterm relationships with clients

They must also be proficient with Microsoft Office software and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems and tools.

Leadership competencies required at this level of work are :

Analytical Thinking Adaptability andFlexibility Attention to Detail Outcome Focused Effective Interactive Communication Teamwork and Collaboration and Intercultural and Diversity Proficiency.

Salary Range : $2568.73 $3210.91BiWeekly
