Both solo and group practice opportunities are available.
Opportunities:Join our dedicated surgical program supporting a high-volume Ophthalmology department. Sault Area Hospital offers a dedicated Ophthalmology OR, modern phaco platform, and full clinic support, including specialized nursing, OCT imaging, YAG and Argon lasers, and fully equipped exam and minor procedure rooms. Enjoy ample surgical volume, reliable OR access, and equitable call (1 in 4 weeks). Engage in academia with an affiliation to NOSM University and mentor medical students and residents. Embrace research opportunities, supported by the Sault Ste. Marie Academic Medical Association.
You bring:Candidates should have fellowship credentials from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or be exam-eligible. Eligibility for an independent practice license with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario Ophthalmology specialty certification is a requisite.

Where you will practice:Sault Area Hospital (SAH), a state-of-the-art, up-to-300-bed facility that opened in 2011, serves the city and the District of Algoma, supporting a catchment population of approximately 115,000. SAH offers a comprehensive range of healthcare services, including the Algoma District Cancer Program and a Regional Renal Program, along with full diagnostic support featuring a 1.5 Tesla MRI and two CT Scanners.
