The right person for this role likes to stay busy, takes pride in doing things well, and is happiest when you are part of a team that is working together toward a common goal.

Why Orbit?

A Team That Has Your Back

  • Performing and documenting visual acuities, colour vision, autorefraction, keratometry (automated and manual), manifest refractions and other testing as required
  • Operating ophthalmic equipment including OCT, IOL Master, topographer, autorefractor, lensometer, Tono-Pen and pachymeter

More Than Just a Skill Set

We can teach you our processes and help you learn new equipment. What is harder to teach is how you show up every day.

We are looking for someone who:

Likes to be busy.

You enjoy a fast-paced environment and take satisfaction in getting things done. Once you understand how things work, you are someone we can count on to keep things moving.

Is genuinely good with people.

You are friendly, approachable and comfortable talking with patients, whether you are welcoming them into the room, explaining a test or answering a question over the phone.

Takes pride in their work.

You notice the details. You want things done properly, and you don’t need someone looking over your shoulder to make sure they are done.

Wants to keep learning.

You are curious, ask questions and enjoy becoming better at what you do. You are excited by the opportunity to learn more about ophthalmology and develop your skills.

You understand that every member of a clinical team matters. You show up, follow through and can be trusted to do what you say you will do.

Leads by example.

You don’t necessarily need a leadership title to be a leader. You are someone others enjoy working with, who is willing to help and who contributes positively to the team.

Has a kind heart.

Our patients are often navigating health concerns, surgery or uncertainty. We want someone who understands that kindness, patience and empathy are just as important as technical skills.

Why This Role?

If you’re looking for a job where you can simply come in, do your tasks and go home, this probably isn’t it.

If you’re looking for a place where you can learn, contribute, stay busy, work with great people and genuinely make a difference to patients, we think you will fit in well at Orbit.

We are proud of the team we have built and are looking for someone who will add to it.
