Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain inventory in an organized and functional manner, maximizing limited warehouse space.
- Inspect all incoming goods to ensure accuracy in quantity, part number, and condition.
- Properly receive all parts and merchandise according to Normet Canada’s protocol, including completing all required paperwork and forwarding it to purchasing.
- Ensure all inventories are received in good condition; inform Purchasing of any damaged parts or goods.
- Pick up parts from suppliers and deliver components to suppliers as directed by Purchasing.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks to maneuver heavy materials.
- Unload shipping trucks as required.
- Maintain all warehouse equipment and tools in a clean, orderly, and safe manner.
- Pick and package orders for shipment, ensuring parts are in good condition and properly packaged to prevent damage.
- Ship parts to customers promptly using the requested shipping method and following customer service instructions.
- Confirm pick lists, print sales orders from the ERP system, and ensure accuracy in packaging.
- Deliver parts to underground mining warehouses as advised by customer service.
- Provide tracking numbers for shipments and monitor shipments for customers and customer service.
- Assemble spare parts kits and component assemblies according to provided specifications.
- Pull and inventory parts for use in upfit and rebuild projects.
- Follow company policies and safety regulations diligently.
- Ensure the security of the warehouse, inventory, and tools, in collaboration with the team leader.
- Suggest improvements for warehouse and logistics operations.
- Report concerns or discrepancies to management.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong teamwork and coordination abilities.
- Organizational skills and the ability to lift at least 70 pounds.
- Experience operating forklifts.
- Effective planning and time management skills.
- Valid driver’s license.
Education/Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of warehouse experience.
- Experience with packing, stocking, loading, shipping, and receiving.
- Proficiency in inventory software, databases, and systems.
