Job Summary

The Operator, Warehouse and Driver is responsible for:

  • Coordinating deliveries to and from Apotex buildings as well as storage and delivery of mailroom items within the assigned building
  • Loading and unloading product on and off delivery trucks
  • Delivering items to sites in a timely and safe manner
  • Communicating pick ups and deliveries with all stakeholders
  • Working in accordance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act (Ontario), Apotex Health and Safety policies and Safe Work Procedures (SWPs), Safety Charter and departmental safety expectations and programs.

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform daily start of shift inspections and assist in the maintenance of material handling systems.
  • Deliver materials, supplies, equipment, etc. to and from Apotex buildings
  • Transfer full and empty totes to appropriate buildings
  • Coordinate delivery requests from internal stakeholders
  • Follow the scheduled milk run and consolodate deliveries to optimize efficiencies within the process
  • Ensure work areas, especially all areas of the truck are neat and tidy
  • Organize, store and process mail within the warehouse dock and mailroom
  • Ensure dock area is clear of mailroom items before end of shift
  • Distribute received mail, documents, packages, stationary supplies, etc. to identified departments/personnel.
  • Coordinate timely repairs with the mechanic when required
  • Able to perform basic shipping tasks e.g. interplant shipments, outbound courier, simple deliveries, etc.).
  • Follow procedures and know logistics flow for exceptional materials/products e.g. class III/IV capsules, waste, CTS waste, CTS, fridge/freezer (i.e. refrigerated/cold temperature), Hazmat, gases
  • Able to complete warehouse technician tasks when required
  • Performs all work in accordance with all established regulatory and compliance and safety requirements
  • Adhere to all internal and external regulations according to the Health Products and Food Branch Inspectorate (HPFBI), the Food and Drugs Administration (FDA), and all other regulatory agencies.
  • Maintain assigned work areas in an audit ready state (i.e. 5S).
  • Committed to corporate mission statement and initiatives.
  • Participate in any internal/external audits/inspections/assessments and perform corrective actions as necessary.
  • Operates in accordance with our Code of Conduct and Business Ethics, and all established regulatory, compliance and safety requirements;
  • Works in a safe manner collaborating as a team member to achieve all outcomes.

Job Requirements

Education

  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalency

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

  • Fluent in English written and oral communication
  • Efficient in time management
  • Self-motivated and good people skills
  • Competent operator of MHE, knowledge of conveyors is an asset
  • Intermediate knowledge of computer operations—SAP modules for various warehouse operations/RF/warehouse databases, access intranet, etc.
  • Willing to work various shifts and/or overtime when needed
  • Possess a valid DZ licence and a clean abstract

Experience

  • 2 years previous driving experience required
  • Previous warehouse experience an asset
