PRODUCTION WORKER

Location: Saskatoon, SK

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Contribute to the manufacturing of components and finished goods within Sandvik's various work centers. Typical duties include general labour, operating and maintaining manufacturing equipment, cleaning, removing waste, as well as using cranes and forklifts to move materials.

Required Competencies

  • Legal entitlement to work in Canada.
  • Previous related experience in a production or manufacturing environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively using the spoken word in English
  • Ability to read and understand basic instructions provided in written or drawing form
  • Good mathematical skills, ability to accurately read/understand a tape measure (metric/standard)
  • Ability to identify problems and seek help in solving them
  • Understanding of common workplace safety and environment practices
  • Ability to meet attendance/punctuality requirements
  • Ability to work shift-work
  • Physical ability to continually handle objects weighing up to 20 lbs. and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to operate forklift would be an asset.

EDUCATION

  • Grade 12 Diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience
