Qualifications

  • Mandatory operator training completed.
  • Maintain valid AVOP.
  • Hold a valid driver’s license and excellent driving skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 60lbs repeatedly.
  • Ability to work in a team and meet time-sensitive deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Flexible to work shifts, weekends and stat holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Operate ground servicing equipment.
  • Report abnormalities in equipment or performance.
  • Stay fluent and up to date on equipment and procedures.
  • Adhere to airport procedures and safety rules.
  • Operate equipment for duration of operation.
  • Manage equipment condition, fuel and performance.
  • Learn training modules (WHMIS, SMS, DG, etc.).
  • Meet time-sensitive freight build-up/breakdown goals as a team.
  • Perform general housekeeping and safety compliance.

Education

High School Graduate or equivalent experience
Mandatory Operator training completed
Maintain valid AVOP
Hold a valid driver's license
Excellent driving skills
Ability to work within a team and meet deadlines
Strong written and verbal communication skills

Job description

  • To operate any/all ground servicing equipment.
  • Report any abnormalities in equipment or equipment performance.
  • Stay fluent and on any new equipment or procedures.
  • Obey and operate according to all airport procedures
  • To operate any/all equipment for the duration of operation.
  • Responsible for any/all equipment (condition, fuel, performance).
  • Stay up to date on any equipment upgrades, changes, performance, and policies.
  • Repeated and continuous lifting of packages up to 60lbs.
  • Sort packages based on customer, airport of destination, and other parameters.
  • Communicate piece counts, and package information to Lead Hands, and Supervisors.
  • Handle customer packages, and freight with due care and attention.
  • Ensure all safety and security protocols are adhered to.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties as required.
  • Perform tasks associated with Dangerous Goods Handling/Acceptance.
  • Meet time sensitive deadlines for freight build-up/breakdown as part of a team dynamic.
  • Learn and apply specific training modules required for position (WHMIS, SMS, Dangerous Goods, Hazard Prevention, etc.)
  • Perform other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Graduate or equivalent experience.
  • Mandatory Operator training completed.
  • Maintain valid AVOP
  • Hold a valid driver's license and
  • Excellent driving skills
  • Ability to drive in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift up to 60lbs repeatedly.
  • Ability to work within a "team first" environment, and complete common goals within time sensitive deadlines.
  • Excellent punctuality and attendance habits.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to fast changing customer requirements.
  • Willingness to take direction with a keen interest in further development within the operation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Flexible to work shift work, weekends, and stat holidays.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Basic reading and writing skills.
