Your day-to-day!- Operate the hydroelectric power plants by way of conducting and documenting all regular monitoring and maintenance;
- Carry out all actions required to optimize the output and production of the power plants;
- Participate in the set-up and monitoring of a Preventative Maintenance program for plants and facilities equipment including the electrical and mechanical testing and repair of equipment;
- Read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, pneumatic and hydraulic drawings;
- Carry out all necessary actions for the troubleshooting and resolution of alarms generated by the hydroelectric power plants to minimize downtime (availability 24 hours a day) when on duty;
- Manage and/or assist any specialized contractors needed to perform maintenance and repairs at the power plants;
- Participate in the daily work planning and operations activities;
- Adhere to and implement the Occupational Health and Safety standards and Innergex;
- Adhere to a variable work scheduled and reside at the Innergex residence while at the facility.
Your skills, our requirements!- Relevant or equivalent training and experience to the role, experience as a Journeyman industrial Electrician or Journeyman Millwrights is preferred.
- Possess a BC driver’s license in good standing as well as a general appreciation for outdoors.
- Experience with 4-wheel drives and snowmobiles is required (Class 1 driver’s licence, an asset).
- Experience in instrumentation, an asset.
- Experience troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing industrial, electrical, and electronic control systems and other related devices, an asset.
- Experience with hydro plant operations, an asset.
Additional Considerations- Must be a “hands-on”, self-starter.
- Have good interpersonal and communication skills (written, verbal, and computer).
- Comfortable in spending many consecutive days in the bush, at camp.
- Commitment to further education relevant to the role: Innergex provides formal and in-house training, as required.
- The position will be located at Toba.
- This position is an O3 level.
The site and work details- Our Toba facility is a remote work site located approximately 180 minutes out of Campbell River or 90 minutes out of Powell River (the marshalling points);
- Work schedule is 8 days in and 6 days out at 10 hours per day for a total of 80 working hours per two (2) week period. Travel time between the marshalling point(s) and the site is included in these hours;
- Employees are required to stay at company provided accommodations while on shift with meals provided by our onsite chef;
- The accommodation is furnished with cable TV, telephones and internet access.

Pay Transparency StatementCompensation for roles at Innergex varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, education, and level of experience. We believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer.
In the spirit of pay transparency we are excited to share the base salary for the position is $82,000 - $100,000, exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses. If you are hired by Innergex, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as skills, education, and/or experience. In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future and continued salary growth.
