Grain Elevator Operator - Central Ontario FS - Beeton, ON

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

In this role you will:

1. Unload grain trucks and wagons into the elevator during harvest time
2. Load grain trucks outbound for end user destinations
3. Operate a computer to identify load numbers, scale weights, grades and other paperwork
4. Scale trucks in and out using a computer system
5. Drive and operate straightforward plant equipment and machinery, such as bobcats, forklifts, and/or trucks
6. Transfer and organize goods
7. Maintain and adjust straightforward equipment and/or machinery
8. Perform general machine/ motor/ auger maintenance and repairs
9. Maintain grain elevator, grounds, warehouse and premises, including yard work
10. Perform daily safety and maintenance checks on equipment
11. Receive grain and grade accordingly by sampling, testing, and weighing
12. Operate automated system grain dryers
13. Climb ladders and work at heights
14. Complete monthly inventory checks of grain silos and record results
15. Participate in silo cleanouts to sweep, shovel, grain vacuum the silo empty
16. Provide excellent customer service to the customers year round

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE

1. Comfortable with computer/digital technology
2. An understanding of electrical panels
3. Physically fit to climb heights
4. Ability to lift 50lbs
5. A general knowledge and skills required to safely operate straightforward plant equipment, and/or machinery
6. Full G driver's license
7. Conversational English skills, with the ability to follow posted safety rules and safe operating procedures; write and make accurate reporting entries, comprehend simple instructions
8. Willing to work evenings and weekends during harvest, and nights if needed
