Job summary

Pembina Pipeline Corporation is hiring an Operator for the Valleyview area. The role supports day-to-day field operations, monitoring pipeline performance, site inspections, and responding to operational issues.

The position requires working in a camp with a rotating 10-hour shift schedule (8 days on, 6 days off). The successful candidate will contribute to safe and reliable operations across liquids transport and fractionation, with a strong emphasis on safety, compliance, and teamwork.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of related operations experience in a pipeline, gas plant, refinery, production, or other industrial environment.
  • Experience with ground disturbance activities and excavation safety practices is considered an asset.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply pipeline construction drawings and technical documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Champion Pembina’s safety culture and Life Saving Rules by embedding safety into all work practices.
  • Perform operations and maintenance safely while complying with procedures and standards.
  • Execute routine pipeline operations and maintenance including pump stations and valves.
  • Participate in rotating on-call schedule and respond to after-hours issues.
  • Inspect and repair pumps, valves, and equipment to maximize reliability.
  • Support installation, commissioning and ongoing maintenance of new facilities.
  • Complete work safely and efficiently with focus on continuous improvement.
  • Maintain daily pipeline operations including measurement and quality management.
  • Coordinate and oversee contractors ensuring safe, efficient completion of work.
  • Demonstrate learning agility by adopting new technologies and processes.

Overview

Pembina is activity hiring an Operator to join the Valleyview area. The location is located 200 KM from Valleyview and is a camp position on an 8-6 shift (Lator). Reporting the Day Formen the Operation will play a critical role in supporting day-to-day field operations, including monitoring pipeline performance, conducting site inspections, responding to operational issues, and maintaining the integrity of pipeline systems.

Liquids Transportation & Fractionation is a critical part of Pembina's integrated midstream value chain, connecting producers and customers through the safe, reliable transportation, storage, and processing of hydrocarbon liquids. This business area manages a network of pipelines, terminals, caverns, and fractionation facilities that move and transform natural gas liquids (NGLs) into valuable products such as propane, butane, and condensate. Working within this team means contributing to complex operations that support North American energy markets, optimize product value, and deliver reliable service to customers while maintaining a strong commitment to safety, operational excellence, environmental stewardship, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities may include but not limited to
  • Champion Pembina’s Zero by Choice safety culture and Life Saving Rules by embedding physical, psychological, and cyber safety into all work practices while taking personal accountability to maintain compliance, support audit readiness, proactively identify risks, and protect our people, assets, and data;
  • Perform all operations and maintenance activities safely and efficiently while ensuring compliance with company procedures, regulatory requirements, environmental standards, and industry best practices;
  • Execute routine pipeline operations and maintenance activities, including troubleshooting, inspection, repair, and maintenance of pump stations, block valves, electrical systems, and mechanical equipment;
  • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule and respond to after-hours operational, equipment, and emergency issues to support safe and reliable operations;
  • Inspect, maintain, and repair pumps, valves, and associated equipment to maximize system reliability and operational performance;
  • Support the installation, commissioning, startup, and ongoing maintenance of new equipment and facilities;
  • Complete assigned work in a safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible manner while maintaining a strong focus on operational excellence and continuous improvement;
  • Maintain daily pipeline operations, including product measurement, product quality management, facility inspections, pipeline integrity activities, and pigging operations;
  • Conduct meter proving, verifications, and related measurement activities to ensure system accuracy and compliance;
  • Coordinate and oversee contractors as required, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with Pembina standards and expectations;
  • Demonstrate learning agility and adaptability by embracing new technologies, operational processes, and changing business requirements while continuously expanding technical knowledge and skills;
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and respectful work environment that supports Pembina's values and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion;

Qualifications
  • 3+ years of related operations experience in a pipeline, gas plant, refinery, production, or other industrial environment;
  • Experience with ground disturbance activities, underground facility locating, and excavation safety practices is considered an asset;
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply pipeline construction drawings, schematics, alignment sheets, and technical documentation;
  • Strong collaboration, organization, and attention-to-detail skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships across teams;
  • Demonstrated learning agility, with the ability to quickly adapt to new processes, technologies, and changing operational requirements;
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities and respond effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced operating environment;
  • Flexible and adaptable, with a willingness to support evolving operational and business needs;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with employees, contractors, and stakeholders;
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record; and
  • Working knowledge of SAP and a strong mechanical aptitude are considered assets.

This position is considered “Safety Sensitive” and so will require Pre-Employment Drug & Alcohol Testing which includes testing for marijuana metabolites. You may also be required to provide a Driver’s Abstract.

This a camp position and the rotation is: the work a rotating schedule consisting of 10-hour shifts on an 8-days-on, 6-days-off rotation.

The successful candidate must be legally able to work in the country of the position. The final candidate will be required to undergo Pre-Employment Background Checks including a Criminal Record Check.
