As an Operator, your responsibilities will include overseeing the production activities of an assigned packaging line. You’ll operate and maintain equipment, guideline staff, and support quality, safety, and productivity standards. You’ll also play a key role in line set-up, documentation, and clean-up activities to ensure seamless operations and compliance with all procedures.

More About Your Responsibilities

  • Line Operation & Oversight: Operate automated and semi-automated packaging equipment while directing staff assigned to your line, ensuring production runs smoothly and efficiently.
  • Technical Equipment Knowledge: Understand the mechanics and electrical functions of your equipment and work with mechanical staff to maintain optimal performance.
  • Material & Product Handling: Manage components, change films, fill hoppers, and ensure materials are always stocked and ready for production needs.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct testing, complete QA documentation, and monitor for quality defects—helping to ensure every product meets our standards.
  • Training & Guidance: Support new team members by providing hands-on training and guidance on equipment operation and safety protocols.
  • Cleanliness & Compliance: Lead line clean-up activities and maintain a tidy, safe workspace in compliance with GMPs and health and safety legislation.
  • Leadership in Safety: Take initiative in identifying safety concerns and ensure all team members on your line are following safe work practices.

  • High School Diploma required
  • 1-2 years of direct experience in pharmaceutical packaging or 2–5+ years in general packaging operations
  • Familiarity with GMP standards and health & safety compliance
  • Ability to rotate shifts, including days, afternoons, nights, weekends, and continental shifts
  • Strong communication skills and proficiency in English (reading and writing)
  • Comfortable giving direction and working collaboratively on a team
  • Excellent manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination
  • Self-starter with strong time management and the ability to work independently
  • Experience within a pharmaceutical or food environment
  • Understanding/familiarity of cGMP
  • Experience within a regulated environment packaging/food/pharmaceutical (FDA, Health Canada)
