Qualifications

Job description

Columbia Forest Products is looking for an Operations Supervisor to oversee our Missinaibi and White River operations. Increase your responsibility, influence and career satisfaction through a role where you can make a real difference in forestry. Experience the enjoyment of managing a forest operation, while working closely with heavy equipment operators, forest industry mills and the Ministry of Natural Resources. Position involves a mix of working outside on the operations and from your remote office. The position will also play an active role in forest management and Annual Work Schedule planning on the forests with the local Sustainable Forest Licence (SFL) holders.

If you have the following, we want to hear from you:

  • Previous supervisory/leadership experience in harvesting, road building and hauling operations
  • Education in forestry or forest management, or equivalent experience
  • Working knowledge of forestry regulations (Crown Forest Sustainability Act) and OH&S Act & Regulations
  • Communicate effectively in English and French (an asset)
  • Able to work independently within a flexible schedule
  • Capacity to cope with adversity
  • Have safe work habits while working to attain production targets, quality, and client service.
  • Ability to make functional analysis, solve problems, and make decisions.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Approved scaler’s license and/or compliance inspector (an asset)
