Position Overview:

The Team Lead is a proactive and results-oriented professional with a solid background in manufacturing and team leadership. This role is responsible for guiding and motivating a team of production workers to meet established efficiency, quality, and safety goals. The Team Lead plays a critical role in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, overseeing production reporting, driving performance improvements, and upholding high standards of quality.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Supervision:

  • Lead, supervise, and motivate a team of production workers.

  • Allocate tasks, set clear performance expectations, and monitor individual and team progress to ensure productivity and quality goals are met.

  • Provide training, guidance, and support to ensure all team members are properly skilled in their roles.

  • Foster a collaborative and positive work environment focused on teamwork, continuous improvement, and employee engagement.

Production Planning & Coordination:

  • Oversee daily production activities, ensuring timely and efficient completion of work while meeting production schedules.

  • Work closely with the production scheduler, supervisors, and other departments to ensure all resources (material, labor, equipment) are available and efficiently utilized.

  • Address any delays, bottlenecks, or issues promptly and coordinate solutions with management and other teams.

Quality Control & Process Improvement:

  • Ensure adherence to all process and quality standards and specifications throughout the assembly process.

  • Perform regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with manufacturing and safety standards.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and work with engineering and management teams to implement best practices.

  • Investigate root causes of quality issues and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

Safety & Compliance:

  • Promote and enforce strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental policies within the production area.

  • Ensure all team members follow safety protocols, use personal protective equipment (PPE), and report hazards or unsafe practices.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment to comply with safety and environmental regulations.

Reporting & Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate records of production activities, including output, defects, downtime, and other key performance metrics.

  • Provide regular updates to the operations management team regarding team performance, production status, and any challenges encountered.

  • Assist in the preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly production reports.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing, preferably in transformer core assembly or a similar industrial environment.

  • Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a production team.

  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, lean principles, and quality control systems.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills.

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, handle multiple tasks, and prioritize workload.

  • Familiarity with ERP or production management software is a plus.

  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in manufacturing.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.

  • Ability to stand, walk, and move around the production floor for extended periods.

  • Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 lbs as needed.

  • Comfort working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, machinery, and varying temperatures.
