About the role

Finding better ways to provide the materials the world needs.

We seek an Operations Supervisor to oversee personnel, safety, and efficiency within the Reduction Department, where aluminum is produced through smelting. The process involves dissolving alumina in cryolite, passing electric current to separate aluminum metal, which is then siphoned off.

This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive leader to join a dynamic environment, leverage leadership skills, drive improvements, and contribute to the broader site.

Leading on the frontline carries significant responsibility. We need you to motivate, inspire, and ensure safety and well-being. Our leadership development programs support your growth, and our schedules are designed to balance work and life.

Reporting to the Reduction Operations Superintendent, working a rotating 12-hour shift, your responsibilities include:

  • Promoting safety and environmental standards, fostering a culture of care, courage, and curiosity
  • Continuously improving standards, policies, and procedures, and driving safety and efficiency enhancements
  • Communicating operating expectations and targets during shift changeovers
  • Identifying safety improvement areas and initiating changes
  • Clarifying roles, setting performance targets, and encouraging desired behaviors
  • Owning problem-solving, decision-making, and actions at appropriate levels
  • Participating in ongoing standard and policy improvements

What you’ll bring

  • A commitment to safety
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid B.C. Class 7 (Novice) driver’s license or equivalent
  • Effective leadership skills: setting direction, prioritizing, motivating, and active listening
  • Clear communication and organizational skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Previous supervisory experience

Beneficial qualifications include:

  • Leadership experience in a unionized environment
  • Experience in mining, processing, manufacturing, or related industries

Note: Fly-in-fly-out is not available; domestic relocation assistance is provided. Join our community-focused team.

Applications close Wednesday, May 28, 2025 (roles may be removed earlier)
