Job description

This is an interview position plus CEV.

This is a frontline supervisor position supporting the FedEx Express (FXE) Safety Above All Culture. The role manages specific day-to-day sort operations and Cargo Handlers (CH) staff within a station. Responsibilities include leading and guiding employees in proper package handling, routing, and recovery of potential service failures within the station sort function. The Operations Supervisor oversees all CH functions, including directing work activities, mentoring, coaching, training, and ensuring compliance with FXE policies, procedures, and government regulations.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • College degree
  • 2 years of FedEx sort operations or senior-level hourly role experience OR 2 years of supervisory experience in a related industry
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
  • EXCEL Leadership Development Stream (Preferred)
  • Ability to lift 70 lbs and maneuver packages weighing up to 150 lbs with appropriate equipment
  • Ability to complete all basic and recurrency training, including maintaining DG certification
  • Mentoring, coaching, and knowledge sharing abilities
  • Leadership skills to inspire, motivate, and empower teams
  • Ability to prioritize and delegate in time-sensitive situations
  • Conflict management skills
  • Effective communication skills: clear, concise, and empathetic listening and responding
