Job Description: Full-time salaried position - $60-75k + benefits starting day 1. Bilingualism is a must to perform the job. SGS Canada is seeking to recruit an office-based Operations and Quality Supervisor responsible for the management and supervision of staff working across various contracts.
Responsibilities:
- HSE responsibility for all employees under Marine Services Group.
- Receive instructions from customers and provide technical advice as necessary.
- Develop new service offerings to increase revenue.
- Maintain continuous contact with customers to discuss operational issues and service improvements.
- Stay updated with industry developments within shipping and logistics industries.
- Prepare and submit proposals.
- Participate in developing standards, including bulk handling standards.
- Provide technical advice to internal and external customers regarding logistics and shipping industries.
- Review inspection requirements upon receiving appointments from customers and prepare proposals accordingly.
- Disseminate SGS corporate guidelines to staff for implementation.
- Direct staff for upcoming jobs ensuring service requirements are met.
- Create and update SOPs.
- Lead SIR Program Training in conjunction with Operations Supervisor and Field Supervisor.
- Monitor employee performance within Marine Services.
- Support additional duties as assigned by the Manager.
Qualifications:
- College or bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- Over 3 years of experience with quality control systems, including ISO.
- Strong knowledge of the industry.
- Fluent in spoken and written French and English.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications and enterprise operating systems.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and manuals.
- Effective presentation and response skills for groups of managers, clients, and the public.
- Teamwork, initiative, and leadership qualities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize and plan effectively.
