Job description

Summary

Reporting directly to the Logy Bay District Manager, the Operations Supervisor is responsible for creating a zero harm environment, maintaining efficient day-to-day operations, and for the effective supervision of Operators at our St Johns Industrial Services location.

Job Duties

  • Supervise daily operations, providing feedback, coaching and leadership to the operating team
  • Plan, assign, direct and monitor work for Operators based on client requirements
  • Identify and recommend continuous improvements to processes and procedures
  • Supervise day-to-day operations including scheduling, workforce planning/coordination and liaising with customer and other contractors, etc.
  • Conduct site visits prior to submission of quote/tender; in conjunction with the business development team to prepare and submit quote/tender package and estimates
  • Develop and execute work plans aimed at keeping projects on schedule and on budget
  • Tool Box Talks/Daily Planning
  • Customer and regulatory reporting
  • Ensures maximum utilization of Assets
  • Facility and equipment maintenance and housekeeping
  • Month end inventory entry
  • Assist with capital project management

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education would be considered an asset
  • Minimum of three (3) years in a leadership, managerial or supervisory role.
  • Related industrial services operational experience preferred with knowledge of waste management and environmental services
  • Experience in a union environment is an asset
  • Knowledge of production management processes, manufacturing equipment and preventative maintenance principles
  • Ability to develop safe operating procedures
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, OMS and Workday
  • Proven organization, time management and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work evenings and/or weekends, if required
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills
