Job summary

Lynden International Logistics ULC is seeking an Operations Supervisor for our Vaughan, ON location on the afternoon shift. You will lead warehouse staff to ensure safe, accurate, and timely movement of goods while maintaining GMP standards.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of supervisory experience, strong inventory controls and excellent communication skills. We offer a competitive CAD salary and comprehensive benefits including pension and EAP.

Responsibilities

  • Direct warehouse activities and staff to ensure on-time picking, packing and shipping.
  • Schedule and allocate work to hourly employees; prioritize orders and coordinate with carriers.
  • Ensure returns are checked and stocked per client instructions; manage attendance and performance reviews.
  • Train staff on GMP procedures and job functions; address disciplinary issues as needed.
  • Plan staffing to meet future operational needs and improve warehouse efficiency.

Lynden Healthcare is actively seeking a passionate and professional Operations Supervisor to join our team at our Vaughan, ON location, on the afternoon shift. The successful Operations Supervisor will use their leadership skills to direct the flow of goods in and out of the warehouse in a timely and accurate manner, while always keeping safety as the top priority.

ABOUT THIS POSITION:
LOCATION:

Vaughan, ON – Afternoon Shift

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ensure Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) are followed and direct the activities of warehouse associates working in a GMP environment.
  • To schedule and allocate work to the hourly employees to ensure orders will be picked, packed and shipped in an efficient manner. This involves setting procedures to decide which orders to be dealt as a priority, which carrier to use, the time table for trucks coming in and out etc.
  • In the case of returns, ensures that they are checked and stocked in accordance with clients’ instructions.
  • To maintain employees’ attendance records. Makes sure the employment standards comply with the legislation, and conduct performance reviews.
  • Ensure all staff are trained in their respective job functions, including GMP training.
  • Train employees. Whenever necessary, conduct personal counseling with employees and maintain disciplines.
  • To plan staff requirements to meet future operational needs.
  • To participate in improving the efficiency of the warehouse operations, i.e. reviews procedures, modifies equipment.
  • To oversee the housekeeping of the warehouse, i.e. safety, security, machine maintenance, layout, stocking, inventory control of warehouse materials etc.
  • To deal with unforeseen situations, i.e. requests for shipment of life saving drugs under emergency.
  • Roles and responsibilities may change based on business needs.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
  • Good verbal communication with staff, giving clear and concise instructions. Ability to write clearly is an asset.
  • Good labour relations skills to deal effectively with labour relations issues.
  • Ability to make decisions within well-defined standard practice and procedures.
  • Previous supervisory experience.
  • Strong analytical skills to solve inventory discrepancies.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
  • High school diploma
  • College or University degree in logistics, business, or related field is an asset.
Preferred Experience:
  • 2 years of warehouse operations experience, ideally in a 3PL, supply chain logistics or warehouse environment.
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience.
  • Previous labour relations experience is an asset.
