Job description

GFL Environmental is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Operations Supervisor to join our team in Trail, BC.

About the Role:

The Operations Supervisor will develop a comprehensive understanding of the company's transportation needs, review daily operations, evaluate equipment requirements, and plan service lines to balance customer satisfaction with cost efficiency. They will ensure compliance with relevant government programs related to transportation modes and routes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily transportation and service operations
  • Maintain cost-effective and high-quality service standards
  • Coordinate with dispatch, drivers, and other teams for efficient operations
  • Conduct driver performance reviews and safety training
  • Handle incident investigations and reporting
  • Manage driver leave requests and staffing needs
  • Lead and support team members including recruitment and performance management

Qualifications:

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean record
  • 2-3 years supervisory experience, preferably in waste management or transportation
  • Knowledge of safety regulations such as WHMIS and the Highway Traffic Act
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Flexible to work varied hours and travel as needed
