Job summary

IEM is seeking an Operations Supervisor to lead day-to-day production in our Surrey facility. You will oversee Team Leads and Operators, ensuring safe, on-time, and quality output aligned with KPIs, while collaborating with maintenance, planning, and quality teams.

This role reports to the Operations Manager and requires 100% in-office presence in Surrey. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential for driving continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in Operations Management or related field; five years of relevant leadership experience considered in lieu of degree.
  • 3+ years in manufacturing with leadership responsibilities; proven people leadership.
  • Experience with takt time, standard work, visual management, and daily tier meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily production execution to meet safety, quality, delivery, and efficiency targets.
  • Coach and evaluate Team Leads and Operators to foster accountability and teamwork.
  • Ensure adherence to daily build schedules and takt time; escalate risks to the Operations Manager.
  • Monitor KPIs like output, defects, rework, attendance, downtime; run daily management meetings.
  • Coordinate with Planning, Materials, Quality, and Maintenance for work center readiness.
  • Enforce safety protocols, 5S, standard work, and compliance with policies.
  • Support onboarding, cross-training, and upskilling with Learning & Development.
  • Lead or support root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality, delivery, or safety.

The Operations Supervisor is a first-line people leader responsible for overseeing the day-to-day execution of a defined value stream. The Operations Supervisor ensures that all teams operate safely, meet takt time and schedule targets, and deliver high-quality output in alignment with KPIs. This role manages multiple Team Leads and Operators and partners closely with the Operations Manager to identify constraints, support continuous improvement, and maintain flow across the work center.

Please note: This position requires 100% in-office presence in our Surrey offices and does not offer remote work. This role will report into an Operations Manager.

Essential Functions
  • Lead daily execution of production activities in the assigned work center to meet or exceed safety, quality, delivery, and efficiency targets.

  • Supervise, coach, and evaluate Team Leads and Operators, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and teamwork.

  • Ensure adherence to daily build schedules andtakttime; elevate risks to production targets to the Operations Manager.

  • Monitor and track performance against key metrics (output, defects, rework, attendance, downtime) and leadTier2daily management meetings.

  • Coordinate with Planning, Materials, Quality, and Maintenance to ensure work center readiness (materials, tools, documents, etc.).

  • Enforce safety protocols, 5S practices, standard work, and compliance with operational policies.

  • Support onboarding, cross-training, and upskilling ofteam members in partnership with Learning & Development.

  • Lead or support root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective action implementation for issuesimpactingquality, delivery, or safety.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s in Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, SupplyChainor a related degree. Five years ofadditionalrelative experience, includingdemonstratedleadership,in lieu of a degree will also be considered.

  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment, including 1+ years in a formal or informal leadership role.

  • Experience withtakttime, standard work, visual management, and daily tier meetings.

  • Proficiencyin basic digital tools (ERP, Excel, production dashboards).

  • Strongpeopleleadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Demonstrated career ambition witha track recordof growth and increasing responsibility; highly promotable with the potential to take on broader leadership roles within a fast-paced, high-growth organization.

Compensation actually offered for this role will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.

[Compensation Range: CAD $38.46 - $55.30/hr]
