Job description

This is an interview position plus CEV.

This is a frontline supervisor position supporting the FedEx Express (FXE) Safety Above All Culture. The role manages specific day-to-day sort operations and Cargo Handlers (CH) staff within a station. Responsibilities include leading employees in proper package handling, routing, and recovery of potential service failures within the station sort function. The Operations Supervisor oversees all CH functions, including work activity direction, mentoring, coaching, training, and ensuring compliance with FXE policies, procedures, and government regulations.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • College degree
  • 2 years of FedEx sort operations or senior-level hourly experience OR 2 years supervisory experience in a related industry
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
  • Ability to lift 70 lbs and maneuver packages weighing up to 150 lbs with appropriate equipment
  • Successful completion and maintenance of all basic and recurrency training, including DG certification
  • Mentoring, coaching, and knowledge-sharing abilities
  • Ability to inspire, empower, and motivate a team
  • Prioritization and delegation skills in time-sensitive situations
  • Conflict management skills
  • Clear, concise, and empathetic communication skills
  • Focus on simplifying business processes while maintaining quality
