Job description

4AG Robotics is a fast-growing startup revolutionizing mushroom harvesting with innovative robotics. Driven by creativity, collaboration, and excellence, we make quick, smart decisions to stay at the forefront of technology. As we strive to become the global leader in mushroom robotics, we embrace challenges as opportunities. We’re seeking someone who shares our passion for problem-solving and is excited to tackle challenges head-on with a “let’s figure it out” mindset.

Role Overview

This role focuses on optimizing engineering and operations workflows, ensuring that product data, release processes, and cross-functional coordination are seamless. The Engineering Operations Specialist will act as the PLM system administrator (Arena), streamline engineering change control, and enhance process efficiency across operations and product development.

Key Responsibilities
PLM Administration & Engineering Release Management
  • Serve as the primary administrator for Arena PLM, managing system configurations, user access, and data integrity.
  • Support engineering change control (ECOs, ECRs) by ensuring proper workflows, approvals, and documentation.
  • Drive standardization in BOM structuring, part numbering, and revision control across mechanical, electrical, and software engineering.
  • Provide training and support for engineering, supply chain, and manufacturing teams using PLM.
Process Improvement & Workflow Optimization
  • Identify and implement process improvements for engineering release, manufacturing handover, and cross-functional workflows.
  • Work closely with engineering and operations teams to define best practices for design releases, prototype builds, and product transitions.
  • Optimize data flow between PLM, ERP (NetSuite), and other business systems to reduce manual effort and improve accuracy.
  • Assist in structuring Jira workflows for engineering teams to align with operational needs.
Operational Documentation & Data Management
  • Maintain and improve engineering documentation standards for drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Ensure that QMS-related documentation (e.g., supplier quality data, part qualification records) is properly integrated into PLM.
  • Support internal audits and compliance efforts related to document control and release processes.
Qualifications & Experience
  • 3-7 years of experience in engineering operations, product lifecycle management, or process improvement within a manufacturing or hardware environment.
  • Hands-on experience with PLM systems (Arena preferred), including system administration and user training.
  • Familiarity with engineering change control, BOM management, and product release processes.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience optimizing engineering-to-manufacturing workflows.
  • Experience working with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred) and integrating PLM with other business tools.
  • Ability to document and refine standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience in robotics, electro-mechanical manufacturing, or industrial automation.
  • Knowledge of Jira, Power BI, and data-driven process optimization.
  • Background in quality systems and document control within an ISO 9001 or regulated environment.
