Participates as a member of the Operations Divisions supporting program objectives and priorities. The incumbent will act as a liaison between Finance and the three Operational Divisions (Energy North Operations, Energy South Operations, and Transmission Distribution Operations), with the objective of compiling and preparing operational material for monthly reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and ad hoc reports to support operations management teams.
A key part of the role will be ensuring compliance with Corporation policies and goals, developing and leading quality control reviews for forecasts, and conducting variance analyses for management and regulatory purposes.
- Leads the review and management of operational operating and maintenance budgets, including producing reports and analyses on monthly financial results, identifying variances, and working with management and Finance on follow-up actions, including accounting entries.
- Responsible for financial tracking and reconciliation of Customer Billed TMI and Construction Contributions projects (Type 6 & 7). Ensures costs are complete and accurate through coordination with management and crew leads, and manages project setup and closure.
- Serves as secondary coverage for the Distribution Technician role, supporting customer service requests, estimates, contracts, deposits, and work orders.
- Provides professional advice, analyses, and report reviews with recommendations to operations management on financial performance, new initiatives, and forecasts.
- Evaluates operational scenarios using business case models, develops ad hoc models for specific analyses, and supports model input development and data processing.
- Performs impact analysis of business decisions, projecting risks and conducting risk analytics within financial and operational models.
- Coordinates corporate outage reporting with the Hydrology and Business Systems Specialist, including training, documentation, dashboard maintenance, and reporting for leadership and the Board, as well as supporting the Outage Investigation Committee.
- Supports operations functions in the corporate thermal system, including data entry, reporting, system integration, and updates in collaboration with IT.
- Leads the development of annual operations and maintenance budgets using both Public Sector and Rate Regulated Accounting frameworks, including budget questions, reviews, recommendations, reporting, and variance analysis.
- Manages quarterly budget variance discussions and updates, reviews capital project costs, and supports monthly reporting on capital projects.
- Maintains understanding of the Corporation’s Chart of Accounts, providing training and support to operations divisions.
- Prepares and reviews divisional plans and KPIs monthly, summarizes quarterly reports, and facilitates follow-up actions.
- Supports continuous improvement initiatives in internal and financial reporting processes in coordination with Finance.
- Establishes effective working relationships across regions and head office to coordinate programs and share information.
- Adheres to health, safety, and environmental policies, complying with all regulations while performing duties.
- Qualifications include a professional accounting designation or a business/economics degree, or a diploma in accounting with relevant experience. Equivalencies and developmental plans will be considered.
- Requires excellent analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, along with advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP and BI360 Reporting is an asset.
- Willingness to learn report writing based on NTPC’s ERP database is required.

Salary ranges from $61.89/hr to $75.21/hr plus an approximate annual location allowance of $4,642. The benefits package includes health and dental, long-term disability, life insurance, paid sick days, and a pension plan.
