The Operations Representative contributes to the overall success of the Account Maintenance Financial Team by ensuring specific individual goals, plans, and initiatives are executed and delivered in support of the team's business strategies and objectives. They will also ensure all activities conducted are compliant with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Provide front-line field communications on iTRADE Accounts by investigating, resolving, and responding to phone calls, emails, and written correspondence regarding inquiries on banking activities for account types.
  • Review, process, and approve various banking-related requests, including special withdrawals, transfers, and transactions.
  • Analyze and resolve problem items and propose the best solution.
  • Act on corrections as agreed with the field and, when required, raise issues or proposed solutions to management.
  • Administer Registered Products activities for all Business Lines (iTRADE, Scotia McLeod, and Scotia Trust).
  • Provide support to interdepartmental staff as required.
  • Participate in various projects for iTRADE and Registered Products.
  • Perform sundry duties as assigned.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • Post-secondary education.
  • Business education and/or investment industry experience.
  • Canadian Securities Course (considered an asset).
  • Working knowledge of Excel and Word.
  • Reconciliation experience (considered an asset).
  • Familiarity with various banking products (EFT, PAC, FX, etc.).
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks, priorities, and projects.
  • The ability to be a self-starter, independent, task-oriented, with the ability to work with minimum supervision guided by senior management.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and strong interpersonal skills.
  • A focus on accuracy, thoroughness, and organization.
  • Analytical thinking skills to break down problems.
  • A focus on customer service, including correcting problems accurately.
  • Strong decision-making skills.
  • A focus on efficiency.
  • The ability to work independently and in a team environment.
