Job summary

Nordex Group is seeking an Operations Project Manager to lead execution readiness for wind energy projects across Canada and North America. You will coordinate cross-functional teams, manage readiness plans and schedules, and ensure safe, efficient project delivery from planning through handover to Construction.

The ideal candidate brings 4+ years of project management experience, strong communication skills, and ability to travel up to 25%.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 4 years of project management or related experience.
  • Experience in renewable energy, construction, infrastructure, manufacturing, or industrial projects.
  • Knowledge of the full lifecycle of large-scale projects.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective negotiation, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% across Canada and to the U.S. as needed.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate execution readiness activities across Safety, Planning, Logistics, Material Management, Quality, Construction, and Commissioning teams.
  • Manage and maintain project execution readiness plans, schedules, milestones, and tracking tools.
  • Monitor project readiness metrics and KPIs, providing regular updates to stakeholders.
  • Identify project risks, delays, and deviations from planned schedules, implementing mitigation strategies.
  • Support execution readiness activities until project site teams are fully mobilized.
  • Coordinate with internal manufacturing, supply chain, and project stakeholders to ensure material and component readiness.
  • Provide operational and project management support to projects in execution as required.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration among cross-functional teams.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to project planning and execution.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Summary

The role of Operations Project Manager directly supports Nordex's mission to develop and deliver clean power plants that make 100% renewable energy a reality for the world.

As an Operations Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading the execution readiness process for wind energy projects across Canada and North America. You will coordinate cross-functional teams, analyze project readiness, drive operational planning, and ensure projects are fully prepared for successful execution and handover to Construction teams. This role serves as a critical link between multiple departments and stakeholders to support safe, efficient, and successful project delivery.

What You’ll Do

What You Have
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Project Management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 4 years of project management or related experience, preferably within renewable energy, construction, infrastructure, manufacturing, or industrial projects.
  • Knowledge of the full lifecycle of large-scale projects.
  • Strong understanding of project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and contract implementation.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Effective negotiation, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of financial management principles and project controls is preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% throughout Canada and occasionally to the United States as business needs require.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada and maintain authorization throughout employment. Sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain eligibility to travel internationally, including to the United States when required for business purposes.
  • Driving is an essential function of the job. Must possess a valid driver's license and be insurable under our corporate auto insurance policy. This position will be subject to periodic driver's abstract checks to confirm continued insurability.
