As a Mechanical Technician, you will be installing, maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting industrial machinery and equipment. You will play a key role in ensuring that the pilot plant operates efficiently and at maximum productivity.

As Mechanical Technician , you will be responsible for:

Assembling and installing of equipment as well as testing to make sure they are working correctly

Maintaining and repairing activities of equipment to ensure minimum downtime.

Identifying and repairing problematic parts by running tests, making repairs, and installing new parts.

Conducting preventative maintenance by identifying and correcting potential issues

Operating of various equipment and systems

To be successful in this role you will:

Have 2 years of post-apprenticeship experience maintaining small industrial equipment.

Have a a valid Alberta Journeyperson or an Interprovincial Red Seal Certificate for one for the following: Millwright, Pipefitter, Steamfitter or HVAC

Have an exceptional safety mindset with proven safe work practices and knowledge of Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) and Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) regulations.

Be able to lift items up to 50 pounds, and occasionally work at shoulder level with equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.

Have a Mechanical aptitude in dealing with hand tools, small power tools, forklifts etc.

Have working knowledge of mechanical technical skills to effectively read documents such as specifications, manuals, P&ID’s

Have knowledge of maintenance practices, preventative and predictive maintenance and be be proficient in troubleshooting of small equipment such as valves and pumps.

Have excellent mathematical skills and excellent attention to detail.
