Job summary

RONA is seeking a Distribution Center Manager to oversee inbound/outbound flow, ensure safety standards, and lead a unionized team. You will coordinate resources, monitor productivity, and drive continuous improvement within a dynamic distribution environment.

You will develop policies, manage staff, and collaborate with the DC Manager to meet quality targets while upholding company values and community involvement.

Qualifications

• 5 years' experience managing and supervising operations in a national distribution center.
• Bachelor's degree in administration, logistics, operations or equivalent is an asset.
• Experience managing supervisors and work teams in a unionized environment.
• Proven ability to supervise receiving, shipping, order picking and inventory.
• Ability to react quickly, show team spirit and work under pressure.
• Results, quality and customer service orientation.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Ensure smooth flow of outgoing and incoming volumes from the distribution center per invoicing.
• Supervise teams to follow safety rules and promote health and safety culture.
• Lead and maintain good relations with the union.
• Create and maintain a positive working atmosphere aligned with company values.
• Plan, coordinate and manage resources based on daily and future volumes.
• Monitor daily operations to meet quality and productivity standards set by the DC Manager.
• Communicate results to the team and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Assist in development and monitoring of budgets for the business sectors.

Your role

• Ensure the smooth flow of outgoing and incoming volumes from the distribution center according to invoicing
• Ensure that teams respect and follow safety rules in the Distribution Center
• Act as a leader in our health and safety culture
• Develop and maintain good relations with the union
• Ensure the creation and maintenance of a good working atmosphere within your team, while promoting the company's values on a daily basis
• Plan, coordinate and manage available resources according to the daily and future volume of your sectors, as well as the total volume of the Distribution Center
• Ensure that daily operations are carried out successfully according to the quality and productivity standards set by the Distribution Center Manager
• Follow up on the quality and productivity results of your work team. Results are communicated regularly to the entire team
• Ensure that appropriate action is taken with employees who fail to meet established quality and productivity standards. Personalized action plans will be developed and presented to the employees concerned
• Develop and document policies and procedures for business sectors. These will be modified and adapted in line with the growth and development of the shipping, receiving and quality control sectors
• Participate in the development, monitoring and followup of budgets for its business sectors

What we're looking for

• 5 years' experience managing and supervising operations in a national distribution center
• Bachelor's degree in administration, logistics, operations or equivalent professional experience an asset
• Experience managing supervisors and work teams in a unionized environment
• Proven work experience demonstrating versatility in supervising the basic functions of a Distribution Center: receiving, shipping, order picking and inventory
• Ability to react and make decisions quickly, team spirit and ability to work under pressure
• Results, quality and customer service oriented approach
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office suite: Outlook, Word and Excel
• Experience of working with an integrated warehouse management system (WMS)
