What we expect

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of employee lifecycle management, including hiring, training, performance evaluations, coaching, development plans, and departures. Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement, inspiring followership.
  • Promote a safety-first culture through regular audits, compliance enforcement, safety training, and accountability. Lead Toolbox Talk meetings and training sessions to enhance safety skills and industry best practices.
  • Develop and implement plans for employee assignments, aligning with contractual, budgetary, and compliance requirements. Manage field labor and support personnel to meet or exceed customer expectations. Oversee departmental budgets, costs, and resource allocation efficiently.
  • Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships through proactive communication and collaboration. Deliver exceptional customer service, resolve issues promptly, and contribute to the company's growth and success.
  • Ensure quality assurance and resource management by monitoring work processes, providing technical guidance, and managing materials, tools, and equipment to meet quality standards.
Who we are looking for

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in operations or field management, preferably in the elevator or a related technical industry.
  • Proven leadership skills, with experience managing, inspiring, and developing diverse teams to deliver excellent service.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills for engaging with employees, customers, and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong financial skills, including budget management and cost control. Familiarity with sales processes for repair and modernization projects.
  • Ability to interpret technical documents and specifications, with mechanical and electrical comprehension.
  • Skilled in conflict resolution and maintaining a positive work environment.
  • Ability to work under pressure, handle multiple tasks, and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems, with adaptability to new systems.
  • Knowledge of elevator codes, safety regulations (TSSA, CSA B44), and industry best practices.
  • Experience in a unionized environment and managing to collective agreements.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within the Greater Toronto Area as needed.
