Job description

The Operations Manager (OM) manages the restaurant's operations during scheduled shifts. They support the General Manager (GM) and Assistant General Manager (AGM) in achieving sales and profit goals through policy implementation, management, and enforcement of standards. The OM assists with scheduling, planning, inventory management, disciplinary actions, employee evaluations, hiring, and training.

Key Accountabilities

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate the company's Vision and Values: People First, Power of the Team, Open Communication, Focus and Accountability, Speed and Simplicity, and Excellence.
  • Monitor and document crew member performance; support their development.
  • Address employee concerns and communicate with the AGM.
  • Empower crew members to resolve guest issues; escalate major issues to the AGM.
  • Coach crew members on regulations and customer service standards.
  • Support financial goals through staff motivation and marketing strategies.
  • Schedule shifts considering employee work/life balance and business needs.
  • Manage clock-ins, clock-outs, breaks, and tardiness.
  • Support inventory management, assist with deliveries, and help calculate food and labor costs.

People Management

  • Develop and motivate trainers and team leads; evaluate performance.
  • Ensure compliance with productivity and service standards.
  • Lead staff through changes and support adaptation.

Quality Management

  • Ensure adherence to QSC, safety, and sanitation standards.
  • Maintain equipment and communicate repair needs.
  • Support local marketing efforts.
  • Identify and communicate operational issues.
  • Participate in OM meetings, share feedback, and implement best practices.
  • Meet deadlines through effective time management and delegation.
  • Support new initiatives as directed.

Financial Management

  • Assist in managing the restaurant’s financial performance.
  • Identify performance trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate records of cash, receipts, food costs, and expenses.
  • Help prepare and review financial reports.
