Our client is seeking an experienced Operations Manager with a strong background in automotive stamping to lead and optimize day-to-day manufacturing operations at their facility in Woodstock, ON. This is a critical leadership role responsible for driving safety, quality, delivery, cost, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced automotive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily operations across production, maintenance, quality, and logistics to meet customer and business requirements
- Ensure all stamping processes operate safely, efficiently, and with consistent quality
- Drive performance on key operational metrics: safety, OEE, scrap reduction, downtime, and throughput
- Develop and mentor supervisors and technical staff, promoting accountability and continuous growth
- Collaborate with engineering, supply chain, and quality teams to support new program launches and process improvements
- Champion Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and a continuous improvement culture on the shop floor
- Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 14001, and all customer-specific standards
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of operations leadership experience in a Tier 1 or Tier 2 automotive stamping environment
- Proven success managing multi-shift manufacturing operations
- Strong technical knowledge of stamping presses, die maintenance, and metal forming processes
- Hands-on experience with Lean Manufacturing practices, operational KPIs, and workforce development
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
Nice to Have
- Experience launching new stamping programs
- Background in robotics, welding, or assembly operations
- Familiarity with ERP or MES systems (such as Plex or SAP)
