A valued client of ours is currently seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join their team in Bonnyville, Alberta. Job Summary

The Operations Manager will oversee the complete operation of the terminal and rig-moving activities. This role involves managing a team, fostering leadership development, and ensuring exceptional customer service to support business growth. The successful candidate will understand legislative requirements and be responsible for planning, organizing, directing, controlling, and evaluating terminal operations.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Oversee dispatch and all aspects of terminal operations
  2. Monitor departmental performance, prepare reports for senior management, and implement schedule and policy changes
  3. Recruit, train, and develop personnel
  4. Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to understand and meet service requirements
  5. Achieve financial goals by managing expenditures, analyzing variances, and implementing corrective actions
  6. Ensure a safe and clean work environment, including maintenance of equipment, facilities, and yards
  7. Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
  8. Develop and enforce operational and personnel policies and procedures
  9. Ensure accurate and timely completion of documentation (e.g., Bills of Lading, driver timesheets, Hours of Service)
  10. Provide regular updates to head office on business status
  11. Conduct team performance evaluations
  12. Assist with incident and accident investigations

Qualifications

  • Proven leadership experience in a supervisory or managerial role within the energy or transportation sector
  • Minimum 5 years of rig-moving experience
  • Strong knowledge of transportation regulations, permitting processes, and oilfield logistics
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities
