What you will be doing

  • Assist the Branch Manager in planning, organizing, managing, and controlling operations under their responsibility, aligned with the company’s management values.
  • Investigate and resolve customer and shipper complaints.
  • Implement schedule and policy changes.
  • Identify routes requiring operational follow-ups and oversee route supervision.
  • Ensure compliance with the collective agreement and applicable laws; promote open discussions and transparency.
  • Conduct performance evaluations for unionized staff efficiently before the end of the probation period.
  • Promote safe work activities through safety audits, safety meetings, and individual staff discussions.
  • Participate in disciplinary processes and grievance settlements.
  • Monitor operations to ensure staff adherence to policies, safety rules, union contracts, and regulations.
  • Oversee spending to ensure expenses align with approved budgets.
  • Prepare management recommendations, including fee or schedule adjustments.
  • Conduct investigations, as necessary, with internal or external agencies to determine causes of transportation accidents and improve safety procedures.
