Job summary

Selkirk Development Corporation oversees property investments, major capital projects, and operations across Yukon. The Operations Manager leads managers and staff, ensures safe operations, and represents owners on major construction projects in Pelly Crossing.

Reporting to the CEO, the role drives operational planning, project execution, and organizational performance while requiring frequent travel to SDC locations and strong cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in operations, construction, business, or property management.
• Minimum three years of supervisory or leadership experience.
• Minimum one year of capital-project experience.
• Minimum one year in building or property maintenance.
• PMP designation is an asset.
• Strong communication, organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to travel frequently to Pelly Crossing and other SDC locations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee SDC’s property investments and major capital projects.
• Support operations teams across multiple SDC business units.
• Provide leadership to managers and staff across the organization.
• Ensure safe and effective operations; oversee building and property maintenance.
• Act as owner’s representative on major construction projects.

Job Summary:

The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing SDC’s property investments, managing major capital projects, and supporting operations teams in Pelly Crossing. The role provides leadership to managers and staff across multiple SDC business units, ensures safe and effective operations, oversees building and property maintenance, and acts as the owner’s representative on major construction projects. The Operations Manager reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer and plays a key role in operational planning, project execution, and organizational performance.

Education/Experience:

• Diploma or degree in a field relevant to operations, construction, business, or property management, or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
• Minimum three years’ experience in supervisory or leadership roles.
• Minimum one year of experience working on capital projects.
• Minimum one year of experience in building or property maintenance roles.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) designation, or working toward it, is an asset.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
• Digital fluency and ability to use software programs and digital tools.
• Ability to travel frequently to Pelly Crossing and other SDC locations.
