Job summary

NewCold Canada Operations II Inc. is seeking an Operations Manager to lead our on-site warehouse at the Coaldale facility. You will drive performance, develop leaders, and support a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

This role requires hands-on leadership, accountability for budgets and KPIs, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional service to customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field.
• 5+ years of operations management experience in warehousing/logistics.
• Leadership style that is visible, approachable, and coaching-focused.
• Experience managing budgets, KPIs, planning, stock control, and P&L responsibilities.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• SharePoint experience; MLS experience is asset.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s licence.

Responsibilities

• Turn performance data into action by monitoring KPIs, identifying trends, and driving continuous improvement.
• Manage operating costs and support smart, cost-conscious decisions that align with budget expectations.
• Create strong communication rhythms through daily briefings, clear shift handovers, and structured meetings with shift leaders.
• Build a positive team culture where employees feel engaged, supported, and accountable for results.
• Champion high standards in health, safety, quality, environment, cleanliness, and housekeeping.
• Partner with customers, carriers, peers, and internal stakeholders to solve problems and improve service delivery.
• Act quickly and professionally when process deviations, quality concerns, or service risks arise.

Full-Time | Monday to Friday, Days | On-Call as Needed

Are you a hands-on operations leader who thrives in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment? NewCold is looking for an experienced Operations Manager to help lead our on-site warehouse operation at our innovative Coaldale facility. In this role, you will drive performance, develop leaders, strengthen customer service, and support a culture built on safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Role Snapshot: As Operations Manager, you will provide day-to-day leadership for warehouse operations, ensuring safe, efficient, cost-effective, and customer-focused performance. You will oversee people, process, service delivery, and operational results while working closely with the Site Manager and cross-functional teams to support business goals.

What You’ll Do

What You Bring

• 5+ years of operations management experience, ideally in warehousing, logistics, food distribution, cold storage, or a related environment
• A bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field
• A leadership style that is visible, approachable, and focused on coaching, developing, and engaging employees
• Experience managing operational performance, budgets, KPIs, planning, stock control, and profit and loss responsibilities
• Confidence using Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Experience with SharePoint; MLS experience is considered an asset
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• A valid Class 5 driver’s licence
