Position Summary:
The purpose of this position is to supervise the day to day operations of a high performance warehousing company and to lead the workforce to achieve safety, quality, service, and cost goals.
Schedule:
Morning/Day Shift (8:00am start)
Monday to Friday
Position Responsibilities:
- Ensure that the dock is adequately staffed and that personnel are properly trained to carry out their work in a safe and competent manner
- Work with the employees to ensure a safe work environment consistent with relevant legislation and company policies
- Ensure that the dock is efficiently scheduled to meet customer requirements and that customer issues are resolved in an effective and timely manner
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to improve safety, quality, budget targets and contribute to the growth of the company in a pro-active manner
- Oversee all routine and preventative maintenance and schedule any major repairs in accordance with production requirements
- Manage the overall logistics of the company’s shipping and receiving
- Manage the shift Operations Supervisors
- Work closely with customer service to provide the best possible service for our customers
- All other tasks as assigned by Management.
Position Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of Management Experience
- Previous experience within the Warehouse/Transportation/Logistics Industry.
- LTL experience an asset.
- Proven problem solving skills and a demonstrated ability to achieve operational goals.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle several complex tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to take ownership of issues and problem analysis, decision making and resolution.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
- Ability to work effectively, efficiently and courteously with other staff.
