Job description

Reporting to the President, the Operations Manager will oversee and manage all business activities to ensure that projects of the utmost quality are being delivered to clients, on time, and on budget. This includes day-to-day management of inventory, equipment, forecasting, budgeting, manpower, safety, and logistics for an industry-leading organization. Prioritizing client satisfaction at all times, in this role you will rely on your sound problem-solving skills to resolve any technical issues that arise throughout a project. Most importantly, you are the type of manager who leads by example, and your people management and team-building skills will allow you to identify staff with high potential and develop them to be the next leaders of the organization. This position will be based out of our office in Bedford.

Your responsibilities will include :
  • Implement a system to track and maintain inventory of supplies and materials;
  • Implement a system to maintain equipment through proper cleaning and preventative maintenance, following up with the Fleet Manager for repairs when necessary;
  • Managing various projects from start to finish, recommending solutions that increase effectiveness and efficiency while ensuring results meet or exceed traditional quality standards;
  • Training and mentoring field crew members with various levels of experience on proper safety protocols and procedures, as well as general best practices while in the field;
  • Coordinating with the General Manager on scheduling, project management, and project delivery;
  • Fostering strong working relationships with team members and clients to achieve the project goals and vision;
  • Maintaining open communication with clients, team members, and other various stakeholders, responding to emails and inquiries as required;
  • Taking steps to minimize any project risk and ensure that Health, Safety, and Environmental standards are being met across the organization.

Your qualifications will include :
  • Minimum 5-7 years’ experience in leadership roles within the construction services sector;
  • Demonstrated understanding of heavy equipment operations used for various construction projects;
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and lead strong, collaborative teams;
  • Strong understanding of construction plans / blueprints;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Ability to operate a smartphone / tablet;
  • Valid driver’s license and the ability to meet the travel requirements of the position.
