Key Responsibilities
  • Direct daily production activities in collaboration with hourly and salary personnel.
  • Build relationships with EHS, materials, quality, engineering, and other production supervisors.
  • Support daily operations to ensure reliability and consistency on the production floor.
  • Lead a team to assemble products to Wabtec’s quality standards, ensuring safety, efficiency, and high-quality output.
  • Support manufacturing goals, measures, action plans, and events aligned with Wabtec’s mission and business plan.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent; 3+ years in manufacturing, including 3 years as a supervisor.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Proven ability to lead diverse manufacturing teams.
  • Excellent communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
  • Strong organizational, managerial, and Lean (Green Belt preferred) experience.
  • Knowledge of safety, quality, manufacturing tools & techniques, and ability to interpret blueprints.
Typical Day
  • Ensure safety protocols are followed and PPE is worn.
  • Hire, train, and evaluate staff; conduct daily shift meetings.
  • Participate in GEMBA walks and problem-solving activities.
  • Review production schedules and optimize resource utilization.
  • Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives and LEAN activities.
Physical and Environmental Demands
  • Stand, walk, and handle objects frequently.
  • Work in an indoor manufacturing environment with machinery, overhead cranes, and forklift traffic, using PPE as required.
