Job summary

Metis Nation of Ontario seeks a Supervisor of Operations for the Metis Early Learning (MEL) centres in Atikokan, ON. The role oversees daily operations, compliance, budgeting, and staff leadership to deliver high‑quality early learning programs.

The incumbent will report to the ELCC Manager: Infrastructure & Partnerships and collaborate with infrastructure developers to ensure program excellence and community engagement.

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years of experience in a senior child care management position.
• Experience in a non-profit setting with knowledge of programs for typically developing children and those with special needs.
• Strong budgeting and project management capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational leadership and oversee day-to-day administration of MEL.
• Implement strategic direction and report to the Board of Directors.
• Ensure compliance with CCEYA, Ministry of Education, and health and safety laws.
• Lead all human resource functions including recruitment, supervision, and performance management.
• Foster a positive, inclusive workplace culture and staff development.
• Oversee program planning, evaluation, and quality improvement.
• Manage financial operations including budgeting and funding compliance.
• Build relationships with families, staff, board, and external partners.
• Advance organizational planning, monitoring outcomes and continuous improvement.
• Ensure risk management, emergency preparedness, and health and safety compliance.

Education

College Diploma in Early Childhood Education

Current registration with the College of Early Childhood Educators
